Experiment

  • Plenny.crypto is conducting an experiment to investigate token economics applied to providing liquidity to the Lightning Network. The trial explores to what extent lightning node operators are willing to interact with the Lightning Network when incentivized with rewards.
  • The primary question the trial seeks to answer is this: To what extent and on which technical, economic, and legal basis can locking of payment and utility tokens in decentralized applications generate transaction fees in order to remunerate contributors? Secondly, to what extent can active income from cross-chain user activity replace passive income of asset token like earning interest or dividends? Thirdly, the trial researches to what extent does providing liquidity to the Lightning Network through decentralized finance represent added value and constitute fungible fundamentals for sustainable token economics?
  • It is vital to note that the Plenny-token is not a replacement for Bitcoin. Instead, Plenny is a complementary currency for providing liquidity in the sense of a dual token structure, using BTC for payment channels in the Lightning Network and PL2 as the hybrid token of the decentralized application (Dapp).
